AM0005 "Universal CaseLock"  INSTALLATION GUIDE
Suitable for:

Kit includes:
1 x specially designed steel CaseLock. 2 x steel anchor plates. 1 x 2 metre vinyl coated steel cable, 1 x 30mm case hardened padlock, cleaning swabs and detailed “do it yourself” instructions. Additional mounting hardware. Lifetime warranty.
Personal Computers (typical installation)
  1. Attach the security cable to fixed location as shown below, or mount the adhesive anchor plate to underside of desk. (One way security screws are provided for extra strength or surface is inappropriate for the adhesive.)
  2. Remove an existing case locking screw from the computer. This is usually on the back and normally enables the cover or side panel removal.
  3. Replace with CaseLock housing and screw kit (see example). Select a suitable replacement screw from screws provided in kit.

 

  1. The CaseLock consists of a washer (A), the CaseLock bezel (B), a spacer (C), a cover (D), and a selection of typical replacement screws.
  2. Choose an appropriate screw and pass it through the spacer (C) while inserting into the bezel (B). Screw firmly into the computer case through washer (A). Place cover (D) over bezel (B) and align the openings.
  3. Feed the security cable through openings and place padlock through the rod on the end of the cable. This will stop the computer from being removed as well as stopping access to its internals.

  • The system can be easily extended to include all extra items such as printers, zip drives, scanners and the like.

IMPORTANT: Be careful to select a flat clean surface. Although the special 3M Brand VHB Adhesive grips instantly, it will reach full strength wiuthin 72hrs of attachment.

  Suggested Cable Securing Methods:  

Anchor plate fixed to desk leg.  One way security screws can be used for extra strength and deterrent.

Cable can be looped around table leg or a crossbar ensuring cant unloop.  Anchor plate can also be fixed to underside of desk and out of sight.
